Recently I got a call from someone who wanted to apply for Primary Education (Hons) with QTS but wanted to know whether or not we had vacancies as she didn't want to “waste her two choices in Clearing” if there wasn't any chance to get it.
Clearing is the academic equivalent of Russian roulette minus the life threatening element to it. There is no limit to how many universities you can talk to/apply for/consider. Until you get an email from a university offering you a place, all bets are on. Call as many as you like, apply for as many places as you like. It is your last chance to get into university for this academic year and you should not be shy about it. This is your degree – you’re going to be in a lot of debt at the end of it. Make sure it’s something you will like for the whole three years.
You can contact any one of us friendly staff at the Enquiry Unit on 0208 331 9000, you can do it via ‘Chat’ at (and a chat window automatically pop up) or you can pop into one of the Clearing Reception Desks at out Greenwich or Avery Hill campus sites. If there’s a will, there’s a way.
